May 2025
Some call it Mayhem, others Maycember.
You know, it’s the month that’s described as just as busy as December because of graduations, the end of school, teacher gifts, sports tournaments, dance recitals, Mother’s Day, conferences and the shift to summer schedules.
There are ways to combat the madness, which not only will minimize stress but increase your ability to enjoy all of the extras.
I can honestly say that May doesn’t feel like Maycember to me at all. That’s because I have a reliable system for planning and pacing all of my personal to-dos. Even though I have two kids graduating this year, I’m planned and paced and reminded by my Notebook and other productivity tools that not everything needs to get done now.
If you feel like you constantly have decision fatigue and overwhelm, it might be time to start being proactive instead of reactive with your personal to-dos.
When you feel like you’re constantly making decisions throughout the day, whether it’s what’s for dinner to scheduling appointments and managing family logistics, it leads to exhaustion. And when you add in the seasonal extras, the overwhelm can be real.
I know because I’ve been there, and I decided to do something about it.
Recently one of my clients shared an ah-ha moment. For the first time ever, she said she’s looking at the year as a whole, taking into consideration busy times in her life and in her career, and she’s scheduling fewer things around them.
Like her, you don’t have to do unnecessary things during busy times. Don’t schedule things that can wait
Definitely schedule them so that they get done, but avoid Maycember or December, or whatever month brings you more responsibility and to-dos. Set yourself up for success with systems. I assure you it will help bring order to the chaos and a smile to your face.

My Favorite Things
If you live in the Midwest like me, you know that the winter is long. But the spring and summer are glorious, and they often make up for the dreary months.
Because of our climate, I’m that much more grateful for the hydrangeas in front of my house. And so, one of my favorite things is to fertilize them every April so that they go wild. Really, ever since a friend suggested I fertilize them, they grow so much better, and they make me feel happy every time I come and go from home.
Fertilizing them has become a repeatable task documented in my Notebook for April. And even though the fertilizer stinks (literally, not figuratively), it’s a reminder that summer is coming. Summer is my favorite season thanks to SUP yoga and my birthday, a few more of my most-favorite things!
What I’m Thinking About
As Workflows by Ronna has evolved, I have:
worked 1:1 with individuals in their professional and personal spaces
led Notebooks with Ronna workshops
presented to professional groups
helped couples coordinate their household tasks
and more!
So, I’ve been thinking about how Workflows by Ronna can serve so many different markets, and I’m proud of that. I’m industry agnostic because the principles of productivity apply to you – all of you.
Many of you from different areas of my life and networking have connected with me, intrigued by productivity principles. I’ve heard from teachers, new parents, and small-business owners who want the Notebooks with Ronna process to work for their lives and their businesses. I recently heard from a client. She said: “You have brought peace and ease to our household.”
It doesn’t really get better than that. So, yes, I’m thinking about positive feedback, too!
