I’m Tired, But I’m Not Burned Out
I love what I do. I love the work I do daily in and on my business, and I love my clients who invest in themselves by investing in me. And yet, doing what I love sometimes comes with a price.
Right now that cost is that I’m exhausted!
I often teach that my methods help prevent burnout, so it’s important that I clarify something: I’m tired, but I’m not burned out. And I’ll do whatever I can to prevent that while also working toward getting my energy back to where I like it.
For me, a big part of this effort will require some reflection and evaluation of how I reached this level of tiredness. I realize that my fall, so far, has been jam packed with many things I’m grateful to have experienced. I’ve had some big moments in my business – ones that required a lot of work upfront! – and I’ve had holidays, an epic trip to Banff with my husband (if you haven’t been, I highly recommend it!), and a wonderful parents’ weekend for my daughter in Madison. There have been so many good things and yet here I am, wiped out. I can only imagine how I’d feel if I hadn’t planned for most of it!
I also got sick this month, right after I held my first webinar, which I worked so hard to bring to you. When I thought about it, I realized that it’s not uncommon for me to get sick after big events.
So while I’m often talking about planning for busy seasons and paying attention to things that will take your time when figuring out how many tasks you can accomplish during them, it’s clearer now that it’s just as important to pay attention to the aftermath of big events or busy seasons.
I’m very conscientious about the quality of what I put out for you, and with everything I do. I’m going to heighten my self-awareness leading up to and after big moments to make sure I have recovery time.
I know even the good things can come with a price. I also know that making plans to lower that cost will pay off a lot in the long run.

FREE TIME WORTH TALKING ABOUT
Making Time for Newsletters, YouTube and a New Podcast
Turning Pages: Jill Lawlor Creative’s Newsletter/Blog: The Notebook
I receive many newsletters. I file them in a Google folder and find myself making time for some more than others. I love brand and website designer Jill Lawlor Creative’s because it’s easy to read, targeted to me and offers tips I can use. She designed my website, logo, Canva templates, and other materials so I also get her client newsletter, which creates a great ongoing connection for us. Her regular newsletter/blog hosted on her website is great, too! She provides accessible, smart and strong branding advice. Sign up at the bottom of her homepage.
On the Screen: Sorta Sentimental, YouTube channel
In the pilot episode of my good friend Paul’s YouTube channel, he says: “It seems like we’re losing track of the things that make us human.” I couldn’t agree more. His show is all about thrifting, travel and crafting, with some occasional shots of his adorable baby. His creativity shines through in everything he features, from selling vintage jewelry at a popup during Coachella or in his travel and production of these shows. I hired Paul in his first entertainment job as a Night Production Assistant on the show Good Morning, Miami, the sister show to Will & Grace. He is extremely talented and funny, and you’ll love sharing his experiences with him. If you’re looking for some joy in a world that feels upside down, this is for you. I’m so grateful that we’ve kept in touch and are still good friends!
In My Ears: Part One: The Unwritten Rules of Interviewing, Adulting 101 Masterclass with Heather Redisch
This is a life skills podcast for young adults navigating the real world, for the parents who want to see them succeed in life and for the managers who want them to thrive in business. And it’s genius. Heather is my friend so I already know that her energy is amazing, and through this podcast, now we can all benefit from the decades of experience she brings as a recruiter. This episode is an important reminder to everyone about the unwritten rules of job interviews and how to make a good first impression. Heather’s podcast is off to a strong start, and there’s no doubt that if this is the first episode you listen to, it will make a great first impression!

WHAT I’M THINKING ABOUT
Finding My Rhythm as a Solopreneur Through Unpredictable Seasons
Even after a few years in my business, I continue to adapt to some unpredictable seasons.
This is hard for a planner like me. You would think that since I am a solopreneur, and I’m calling the shots, I would know what to expect. But like I mentioned earlier, I have to be careful not to over commit and to continue to make room for personal experiences, which I value a lot.
Speaking of human connection, at the end of the summer, I had a wonderful experience with a discussion with Erin Attere’s Radiant Life Collective. Erin is incredibly thoughtful in what she teaches, and I am learning so much from her. Engaging with her group made me think yet again about different seasons of life and how I’m still figuring out the rhythms.
I know the busy season in my personal life, but is there a cadence in my professional life? I will commit to keep thinking about this and figure it out – until it changes again!

Also, calling all Notebooks with Ronna™ Alumni!
I will be hosting the Notebooks with Ronna 2.0 Planning Group again in 2027.
For the entire year, we will meet once a month for 1 hour. No matter where you are on your notebook journey, we will meet you where you are. It’s a judgement-free zone filled with support and actionable tips.
If you’ve been crushing it, great. If not, great!
Each session we will discuss a different tip/best practice for using your notebook, our shared wins and best practices (only if you'd like to share - you can also just listen!), any challenges and solutions, and takeaways and actionable steps so that you can make your notebook work its best for you based on what we learn and share.
Each month you will get a worksheet with that month's tip and space for taking notes during the session. This will be a great place to get better at implementing the notebook process AND to get to know a group of wonderful women who are in it with you. Each session will be recorded so if you can't make it, you can watch the recording later. If you’re interested in joining, I’d love to have you!
